Ann Miller Woodford is a versatile professional artist with decades of experience, dedicated to celebrating and revealing the untold life experiences of African Americans and rural people in far western North Carolina through her artworks. She uncovers the hidden life stories of some of the descendants of formerly enslaved African Americans as she works to dispel old stereotypes.

My mission is to make the invisible visible — to honor those who made extraordinary sacrifices and worked under challenging odds to make our lives a little less complicated and a little more peaceful and secure.
